Silverstar Upgrade

I was looking to replace my stock headlamps with Sylvania Silverstar lamps when I notice that the high(65watts) and low beams(55watts) appear identical. Can I use the high beams bulbs in my low beam slots ?

Thx

Re: Silverstar Upgrade

ʹm just guessing here but, you could get a ticket for having too bright low beams, happened to me in Chicago

Yeah I agree I don't think that's a good idea. You'll prolly get a ticket for those. I put 56 Watt Xenon's in for my low and 100 W Xenon's for my high beams. It's more than enough light when required.

Re: Silverstar Upgrade

Please don't. Those are horrible, the white light is so much worse on other drivers eyes than the yellow stock lamps. Ask yourself this: Do I really need this? Every damn time I see someone with those I get tempted to run 'em over. (since they're usually driving small foreign cars, no match for a 5000 pound Chevy =))

Re: Silverstar Upgrade

Well, you have to consider a few things. Maybe he needs the extra light. Lord knows I do, there are so many deer around here its pitiful. I'm going to upgrade as soon as I get mine back out of the body shop for the 5th time.

Just bought some last week and i love em. If i wouldnt have bought them i wouldnt have noticed that my headlights need to be adjusted. But they work great.

Just keep the little pamplet in the car with you incase you get pulled over for them so you can prove that they are street legal.
