92 325I will not start. battery died and now wont start

I have a 92 BMW 325I. It was parked in the driveway for a few eeks and the battery went dead. The battery is a newer Interstate. I hooked up jumper cables and let it charge for while. The motor turned but it will not start, I took the bettery to work charged it on the charger and put it back in the car, it turns over fine but wont start, I dont smell nay gas and I dont hear the fuel pump at all. I tried getting the codes from the car using the gas pedal method but it wont work. Do I have to let the car sit a while with the battery connected so maybe the computer can reset itself? It was running fine before it sat. Any ideas at all? Thanks.
