Skylines in the U.S.

I was just wondering if the R32 & R34 were legal here in the U.S. More importantly in California. I've hearing from people that it is illegal. If so why?

Re: Skylines in the U.S.

They aren't illegal. That is why you see so many of them. You can get them at any Nissan dealer. You just have to order them special.

huh??? what do you mean from a Nissan Dealer??? I know Motorex is the only company that can legalize them and apparently Motorex is under investigation. Unless something's changed that I don't know about.

Re: Skylines in the U.S.

Why do you even ask about Skylines? You already know.

Re: Skylines in the U.S.

I just like to point out, nice mistake how you said you order them "special". Motorex doesn't legalize them. They buy them from Japanese Auto sales and house auctions, and sell them for nearly double in the states. Insurance, and legalization, is all up to you. Only a couple thousand dollars should get you to pass emissions, which is the only reason why they aren't legal. Remember, no matter what you hear, it's only emissions.

Not if you live in the US. Wrong its not just emissions... in fact many other things, Motorex doesn’t say what they do to the cars... so don’t make any speculations.

Re: Re: Skylines in the U.S.

Until recently, they DID legalize them. Any car you bought from Motorex came complete with a package from the DOT stating the car was legal and registration. Although the work was mostly farmed out to G&K, it was included in the price paid to Motorex.

I don't know what all, but it is MUCH more than just emissions.
