Tutorial : Intercoolers.

Step 1:

Find a pic you want to put the intercooler on, as seen below its my recent WIP. (thanks bulldogg for the rims)
(front ends diff here)

Step 2:

Find a good donor pics with the intercooler in it, This one was a quick search at google.com to find.

Step 3:

Lasso in the intercooler (don't have to be perfect, most will be erased around the edges)

Step 4:

Copy/Paste onto car (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V)

Step 5:

Since this intercoolers facing the other way you need to flip it horizontally, (Edit-Transform-flip horizontal.)

Step 6:

Hit transform free transform (Ctrl+T, Or Edit-Free Transform)

Step 7:

Play around, reduce the size, Hold Ctrl drag mouse. Just make it line up.

Step 8:

Reduce opacity to around 20-30%.

Step 9:

Zoom in, select the parts ONLY on the car body you dont want.(Might have to do this a few times) Hit delete after you do it.

Step 9 (continued)

Select the bottom part now.(Hit delete too)

Step 10:

Raise the opacity back to 100% and see how it looks so far (might need more tweaking) Look's pretty good so far eh?

Step 11:

Lower the brightness a tad. (Image-Adjustments-Brightness/Contrast)

Step 12:

Select around the car and the intercooler, just a little strip.

Step 13:

Get out your brush(the fuzzy lookin one, number 13 size), turn the opacity down to around 80% and brush near the edge to give it the "in the bumper" look.

Step 14:

Do the same to the side now.

Thats pretty much it, You can add Intercooler piping if you want. On this particular car, You would not see it so it would not matter.

Other cars might need some more work to get to look right but thats just the basic overveiw on how to do it, as a member requested a tutorial.

Hopefully this will help some people.

Re: Tutorial : Intercoolers.

nice tutorial bro, however when u put intercooler in the bay as deep as the one in eclipse u should darken the upper part of intercooler and make it less bright, this will add to realism.

by the way fix the rims, especialy back one and dont forget toerase nismo logo from them, otherwise eclipse and nismo rims dont make much sense

Re: Re: Tutorial : Intercoolers.

Nice tutorial, as said above this will DEFINATELY help out a lotta people just getting started in PS.

a lil side note: for all the people adding FMIC's to their cars, dont add it to EVERYTHING, especially cars with rear engines, like NSXs and Ferraris lol
