pet peeves/annoyances

what are yours?

mine are:

-sun shining in your eyes when you're driving in the afternoon
-being put on hold when you're on the telephone and the people keep on redirecting you because they dont want to have to deal with you
-people standing RIGHT in the doorway just talking with their friends

Fans... hate wind/breeze in my face unless it's a natural breeze. Girlfriend HAS to have one on all night though.

Chronic smoke bummers... I know one that will bum a smoke from me, and not 10 minutes later will bust out a nearly full pack and light one up.

Pop-ups and browser hijacks.

Being late for anything, regardless of why.

Dirty dishes left either in the sink, or on the counter, but not rinsed.

Food in the fridge/freezer not being closed properly (i.e. cheese in a ziplock, etc.). Especially newly purchased food with plenty of shelf-life left.

Last call.

Mornings.

Clingy people that just don't get that you're not really their best friend, and no, you don't want to go hang out with them every freakin' night.

missing phone calls.

when people don't change the TP roll after finishing it.

likewise, when people put the empty milk container back in the fridge without changing the bag.

at work, when my fellow employees pile the garbage so high that it takes more then 1 try for something to stay on the pile, but they don't take it out or change it.

chewing with mouth open.

i can't think of any others right now but if i do, i'll post them.

1. People who call others "closed minded" because they have a different opinion. I actually had a chick tell me one time "I don't really know you or what you believe, but you seem like a really closed-minded person to me." Holy freakin crap, that bothers me.

Similar to number one...but...

2. People who think if you have a different idea, belief, opinion etc. you must be a total idiot totally devoid of any intelligence and you obviously arrived at your decision to think that way because A) Someone told you to or B) Totally oblivious decision making. Isn't it possible that someone arrived at a different opinion than yours through an equal amount of research, pondering, soul searching or whatever. Of course everyone likes to think they're right, but don't assume others are idiots because they arrived at a different conclusion. [/RANT]

yes, in canada, milk comes in plastic 1-litre bags. you put this bag into a container that holds the bag, cut one corner off of the bag (it's fairly rigid plastic) and pour.

a common occurence is for people to not change the bag when they finish one.
