I made some nice looking ones by shaping the little plastic domes that some medicine tablets come in. I forget which brand, though. Might've been the kids' medicine, even.

Anyways, I know a method. I use it as well and it works pretty good, though I'm not done with it yet. I use Fimo that needs to be heated in the oven to get solid. I make a half sphere of Fimo. I heat that up. After it's done I make a half sphere again in the top of the big one using my dremel. This way I get the inside of a sub or speaker. This will serve as a template. I put BMF on the top. On top of that I put again some fimo. After that is heated I pull of the top of fimo and I got a perfect sub.

Of course this all goes with some sanding and stuff. The speaker needs to be sanded and made flat on the inside, but that's not a lot of work.

This all isn't really clear probably. I'll post some pics if necessary (I just need to make them still )

Iīve also been thinking about making my own subs, so I started experimenting with it and I came up with several methods. The one I liked best, the "heat and form", I belive itīs pretty similar to Basī method. I haveīnt had the time to complete any sub yet but as soon as possible Iīll finish it and post some pics. The idea is to simply heat up some styrene sheet and form it over somthing round, like the glass ball I used (in reality, the sub would be 10", so make sure to find something with a proper diameter). The other metod is basically the same, only that I use Milliput instead of styrene, and the sub-frame is offcourse styrene aswell.

Make sure to heat the styrene for a quite long time, about 30-60 sec so that itīs completly warm, then itīll form better.

Alu BMF was used for the membrane.

Here it is (the Milliput one), temporary installed in the temporary trunk of my R34.

Regards, Fredrik

Think so? How do I post it in there then? Also, maybe I should take some pics of the final result so that people can see how it turns out.

I like this idea. Requires further investigation. Many possibilities.
Good ideas guys and I agree that you 2 should put your ideas in one thread for all to have a choice.
Cheers
