silvias are legal to drive you just need to know the how to.

ok no i am new to this forum. i have been reading on how people are saying that the silvia is not legal to drive well at least the s15. the things that you can do to drive this car in the street would be to one. get a permit for the car. the rumer about windows are false.
im saying this because i talked to this guy from the famus JDM evolution i was at the auto bacs in stanton and he pulled up in his s15 the first thing i ask was how and where he told me he owned this impoting comepany called JDM evolution. so i started to ask questions and he said that he has a permit to drive the car in california wich is where this auto bacs was at. i ask if the window mith was true he said no becuase when he imported the car it was more paper work than detuning like the mith has it. he also has a skyline and he said that the only skyline that is hard to legalize is the r-34 but the r-32 and r-33 are easyer to legalize. and the guy even showed me the paper work. so i balived him.

uh...the true JDM Silvia...S13, S14, OR S15 is NOT stateside legal. It WON"T be stateside legal. NO ONE IS LEGALIZING THEM. NO ONE CAN. They are NOT approved for registration ANYWHERE in the US. It aint happenin'!

HE can drive an S15 because it is registered to a company. They can register a car, but it is limited in the number of miles they can put on it annually. With that type of corporate registration no mods are necessary but they are limited on how much they can drive it.

yea they are legal to drive, but not on the streets. They can get permits to make it a track/show car and are allowed to "drive" it off and on the trailers and at the show. Go ahead a try to import a silvia and drive it on the streets...then get pulled over by a cop and show him the paperwork...your car will be impounded.

well true, but then again most people out there drive cars that are not "street legal." So why would it really matter as long as you watch your ass.

actually there is a way around this, unable to be used by almost everyone though, it could technically get almost any car i believe

I live in jacksonville florida and there was for a period of time a R34 skyline here and legal to drive on the street, still RHD, it was on the military base, BLACK GT-R, it was only here for like 7months as the guy was shipped to iraq

the military allows the bringing of one motor vechical with you when you transfer stations, they pay for the shippment and i guess its cheaper for them this way, rather than modify the car they give you a permit to keep the car

like i said not really usefull but still, the trick would be to have someone preferably a relative in the military get the car and just iono pay that person soo you could drive the car
