=]... i finally got a Tamiya Ferrari Enzo
just thought that i would share since im very happy about getting the kit. i got it for 1/2 off, too. i got the Giallo Modena one. i really wanna get it started but im still kinda noob with some modeling stuff(like i havent painted a car body yet... ever... but i will get some done soon) and its starting to get cold here and i usually work outside on this table thing i have set up in my garage. i was also wondering if Testors makes a decal setting solution and if its any good(i dont like ordering stuff online and i find Testors stuff easily around here).
thanks

I don't know about the Testors decal solvent. I use Microscales two-stages products, Micro Set and Micro Sol and they are just great. If nothing else, get your hands on a couple of these bottles. The Enzo is a fantastic piece of model engineering, nothing to warn you of, just take care reading the manual thoroughly though. There is a lot of places that is going in body colour that isn't that obviuos. Good for you the body panels are many so you don't need to paint a whole body in one go with this one
Good luck! Niclas |

While it may be an itimidating kit at first glance, it fits very well and when built straight out of the box makes an impressive piece. You may want to practice body painting on another kit, too much paint on the Enzo could cause some minor fit problems with the opening parts.
Testors does make a solvent, but it is mostly just acetic acid. I've had great luck with, and prefer Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Mark Softer decal solvent. It's not too hot, but with just a little patience will still soften almost all decals to the desired pliability. I do a LOT of decalling and a $5.00 bottle lasts me a couple years... Good luck on the Enzo. - Mark |

Re: =]... i finally got a Tamiya Ferrari Enzo
thanks for all the help.
im pretty scared of mine, too, but now that i have it i figure i gotta build it sometime. i have 4(?) other kits that need paint so i will have some practice on painting before the Enzo. the question for the decal solvent was basically for my CLK DTM since i dont think going without decal solvent would be a very smart decision. So ill be looking around for some solvent soon.

Re: =]... i finally got a Tamiya Ferrari Enzo
I built that DTM car. the decals are relly good and I didnt use hardley any micro-sol, only around the front where the decal goes over the cut-outs in the front fenders. I mostly used a hair dryer and that seemed to work great.

Yea, im pretty sure i remember not only seeing it in that thing under the post with the pictures and stuff(lol... i forgot what its called) but also asking you about it. im pretty sad about the car cuz i accidently cut the edge of one of the large decals about a centimeter or so with my knife... argh. plus im not a pro with decals. i got my window decals to look nice but my spoiler is a little tiny bit bubbly and sticks up a little. the decal solvent would make it stick better, right?

You definately need to use solvent. Itīs like turning your modeling upside down. When you worked before wihtout solvent, it will open your eyes on how easy it is to make difficult decal jobs work fine. Iīll never put one decal onto a model again without using decal solvent.
