97 Monte Carlo LS
i have a 1997 Monte Carlo LS, i didnt pay anything for it and the only money ive put into it was for gas.
Its got like 150,000 miles on it and my father told me it needed new axels in the front. The ones on it work and i can drive it fine but he said its gunna need to get done eventually. Other than that the cars in pretty good shape. Automatic... The engine is 3.1, 3100 SFI V6. What can i look at as far as engine swaps ? i dont know too much about the engine in there or the possible compatables. Im not lookin for a race car but a higher performance engine couldnt hurt. And seeing as how i didnt pay for the thing in the first place i got a lot of what i need already and wont have to spend as much, or ill be able to spend more on other things. Re: 97 Monte Carlo LS
Oh! I'm surprised I didn't get that. Are they making noise? Or are the Boots torn?
As far as engines go, you are almost limitless if you want to do the work. I always tell people if you're going to go through ALL the work it takes to swap engines and trannys, you might as well go find a 3800 supercharged from a salvage yard and the 4t65E tranny that they usually come with and swap away. It will be a lot of work, but any different engine swap would be. the 3800 SC is a kick ass reliable engine, and there are a LOT of upgrades available for it. |
