330ci vs 330d

I am trying to decide between these two

either 330ci sports or 330d sport

now i have had an e36 m3 before and loved the look and feel and sports look as well as the speed. I understand the 330ci is pretty similar quite sporty and it looks good

because i travel about 15000 mixed miles a year I am not sure whether to go for the diesel or the ci as the diesel has better consumption and is supposed to have great performance

however i want the sporty car too- which the 330d seems to match

i am looking at a 2001 model so cant afford the new 330cd which would be perfect

any views as to what is better and will i loose much sportiness, cool sleek looks and acceleration with the diesel

i am really in 2 minds about this and can't make up my mind

please help!
