Re: biggest tires on a 01, z71
305/70/16 with the torsion bars cranked a good bit.
285/75/16 will fit with virtually no modifications.

Re: biggest tires on a 01, z71
It involves going under the truck, and adjusting the torsion bar bolts..you can see them once you slide under. If you tighten the bolts, it raises the front of the truck up a little. If you crank them too much, it will wear your tires on the outside, but if you just do it a little to make sure you have enough clearance, they should be fine. Mine are cranked 4 turns.

I have BFG MT's on my truck that are 255/85/16 which are 33.3" tall when new and i did not have to crank the torsion bars to get clearance although i did to level out the truck

Re: biggest tires on a 01, z71
The 255/85/16's are nice because you get the height without all that width, Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with wide tires it is just that with that kind of width and any amount of snow you damn near have to have it in 4wd just to get around. Also it is easier on gas with narrower tires , although when you are running 33's it does not make much of a difference lol

the best thing to do any time you touch your torsion bars is to get your vehicle aligned. it will save you money in tires
