I believe the blocks are the same, so the head should swap fine. However I don't know of anyone that has done it. Many people, however, have just swapped the entire engine for a JDM H22A.

Re: H22A1 Head swap on H23A1

it has been done many times...youre going to need the head...a p13 ecu...vtec selenoid...vtec oil pressure switch...a pinout guide to the new ecu. alot of 4th gen lude si's were prewired for vtec and you can check this on your ecu if you get that pinout guide...the vtec selenoid wire comes out at your right strut tower close to where your air intake crosses the battery. it is a green and yellow wire and comes out of another bundle of wires up to a connector that is just mounted on the strut tower. you can either use that connector or splice the wire to the vtec selenoid. from the selenoid you'll have a black wire that needs to run somewhere to the engine block for a ground. the pressure switch wire comes out of a bundle of wires next to your fuse box...i believe it is light blue in color...you'll need to splice this wire to the wire from the pressure switch. after that is all completed youre really going to want to get it dynoed and tuned thru a ruputable shop somewhere...your compression rates are going to be thru the roof so you need to be sure to use premium octane gas. if you can ever get the thing tuned right then youre going to be 210-220 hp more than likely if not more...but you can never tell...easier way to achieve vtec if thats what youre wanting is to get a h22 swap...less headache but the other can be done
