ACME Southern Nationals NNL (Atlanta) announcement and roll-call

The ACME Southern Nationals NNL in Atlanta, GA is now less than 2 weeks away. The show will be on Saturday, November 13th.

Hopefully many of you that post here at AF can make the trip and attend and enter the show.

I'll be there. I hope to meet some of you in the hotel hospitality room Friday night, or at the show Saturday.

Who else is planning on joining in the fun?

Re: ACME Southern Nationals NNL (Atlanta) announcement and roll-call

Matt, as you know, I am trying my best to go. I was planning on getting the early bird admission, except modeling sucked away all my money. Plus, Im about to buy a 128MB memory card for my camera (so I can take 800+ pics of the show and make a thread with all the pics and annihalate 56k )

I do have a few questions being this is my first contest I have attended.

1. How many people are there really early? (Like is it really packed when the doors open at 10?)

2. Is there a Primer/WIP table? Are those entries also competeing?

3. Should I go ahead and fill out the ACME Model Registration Form, and ACME Modeler Information before the show?

4. Can I bring a some extra pictures of the build next to my model?

5. Should I bring my 1/6?

I think thats all, thanks Matt.

I'll be there - got my room and everything. Hooray!

Are we going to have some sort of AF table or something so we can find each other? Also, whoever's willing, throw your real name up for those who don't know. I don't think I care to walk up to someone and say "Hi, are you CADguy? Or GTMike400?" (Matt, Mike... just examples...) When you see a dude with a lot of hair, that's me, Will.

I'll try to answer these best I can. If I'm not correct, I'm sure another ACME member can correct me.

1) There will be a slight rush in the first hour or two, so there may be a little bit of a line. It won't be like waiting to get onto Space Mountain at Disney World though. I believe last year we had most of the vendors set up and at their booths a bit early, and opened the show before 10. (Having your registration slips filled out ahead of time will speed up the whole process)
2) There is a primer/WIP table. Those are display only, and do not compete. I'm not 100% sure if a slip needs filled out for those.
3) You'll need to fill out the registration form for each car. and the modelers info just one time.
4) You can display some pics. I have seen some little photo books of the more intricate builds, but most don't. Usually the finished car speaks for itself.
5) You can bring what ever you'd like to show. I'd like to see how you've come along on the hot rod myself, so it's totally up to you..

Glad to hear you're coming Will! Sometime during the show announcements will be made for forum members from the various forums (AF, ScaleAuto, and HobbyHeaven..etc..) to get together.
Most ACME members will have name tags.
I'll be Matt that day..

Of course, you guys will be taking the obligatory AF group photo, so that the rest of us can sort out your faces by usernames, correct?

You'll only need to gather 18 AF-ers in one pic to best the Singapore group, which excels at coordinating their group meetings!

Re: ACME Southern Nationals NNL (Atlanta) announcement and roll-call

I'll be there. I read that the Scale Auto forum guys will have a table.
I think it would be a good idea if we could all get name tags and put our AF names and real names (or fake name if someone is looking for you) on them. Having a call for a picture sounds like a good idea.

An AF nametag with your screename/realname would be a good idea.
Maybe someone with some photoshop skills could produce one..

I know of 11 AF members that will almost certainly be there, getting more than 18 will be challenging, but probably not impossible..

I will also be there to see all the stinkin' models that Veyron has built since he has nothing else to do with them... (j/k about the stinkin' part, we all know better than that!!)

I'll even bring a couple of my own models....

I'll be the geek playing with model cars.

I've got somewhere around 12-14 cars to bring to the show.

Don't forget that we've got a hospitality room on Friday night before the show, and Saturday night after the show. Great place to meet up w/friends and talk shop.

I'm gonna be there!! I'm bald ans skinny. I'll be the weirdo with a HUGE grin on my face drooling all over the models!! I'll try to have something to either identify me as Antonio or Tonioseven. I'm shooting for 20 models but we'll see...

Note to self: Build drool guard

Note to Tonio: Drool on my model and I'll hunt you down and run you over with my 1:6.
