Battery light staying on

Hello to everyone from a newbie here. I'll get right to the point. Yesterday my battery light came on and has stayed that way on my 1990 Integra. I replaced the battery which was bad yet the light is still on. When the RPMs are at 3000 or higher the light goes off until the RPMs drop below 3000. I am thinking my altenator or voltage regulator are bad. There's a lot of talented people on here so I knew this was the place to ask for advice. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, CJ

Re: Battery light staying on

Take it to Autozone, they will check your battery and alternator for free. Also they can run your ECU for codes(free). Since you are getting a light, a code probably registered so that might lead them directly to the source of the problem.
IMO it does sound like your alternator though.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
