Lights Problem

I have a problem with my lights in my metro. The parking lights will go on but the lights that you drive with at night wont. My lights eventually go on, but then they keep blinking. I cant turn my highbeams on unless my regular driving lights go on. I read the one thread but it really didnt help me. Any possible solutions?

I assume you've already checked all of your fuses.

With all fuses in tact, on my '96, the headlights (low-beams) will only work in the 'middle' headlight position AND when my parking brake is off. High beams will not work in the continuously 'on' position, but they can be activated by pulling the lever toward the driver. I was under the impression that the trouble is the headlight switch, which I hear is ~$400. I paid $500 for the car, so I've learned to adapt....

Re: Lights Problem

I've had a similar problem when the snap connector inline in the light switch harness came unclipped. The problems all went away once I clicked it back together. It's a wiring harness that goes from the steering column to behind the fuse panel.. has about 4-6 wires in it, if i remember correctly. Probably not your problem, but you can check it out anyway.

99.9% of these headlight problems are solved by following the suggestions in this thread.

These lights do weird things when the connections get corroded or burnt.
