...... a 1.8T hung with me on the highway.

argh i'm at the arcade where i normally chill at. and i sometimes see this grey GTI 1.8T. it has rims and its very clean looking. i usually think nothing of it. so one day we left home around the same time and on the highway, this guy hi beamed me. so i'm like alright whatevers. we were merging from one highway to the next and its normally a 40mph merge. so were taking it at 60mph and to my surprise he was right on my rear ass. ( my car has hooked up suspension such as adjustable shocks springs, and sway bars ) we i heel toe into third from 60mph and i flow it out of the turn at 70mph. to my surprise it was right there with me!!! i was only inching on him till around 95ish. then i started walking harder and harder. so by 120mph where i hit my limiter he passed me and hit the damn hazards on me!!!! thas what i got him mad!!! i had like 6 cars on him and he hit the damn hazards.

to my surprise when he passed me, i saw that he had a stock exhuast on. when i hear him pull out of the parkinglot, he definitly has a intake. i am also suspecting that he has a chip done with raised boost. but i see no boost gauge. i wish there is a vw guy here to tell me what is goin on.

on the side note, i had my car re dynoed and i only put down 214whp. this i guess is due to my engine seeing boost making 230whp for 30K miles, me putting larger rims on, had dragging brakes, having a clogging cat, and running colder spark plugs. however even with 214whp i should whoop is ASSS. considering a S2K puts down 200whp and runs 14 flat.

oh wellz i'm maddd. when i get my 550cc injectors and my spare ecu from jim wolf with the rev limit raised to 7K and that stupid limiter removed ( after i do my compression test in school tom ) its over. i'm goin to run 12 psi and whoop his ass.

Re: ...... a 1.8T hung with me on the highway.

I read in popsci that chipped 1.8t VW motors gained up to 50 hp but you shoudl have still been able to beat him. I don't know alot about the Ka24de but 12 psi seems like a lot. Is it worth blowing your engine to beat him?

One it's cause VW ownz j00. lol jp. You know not everyone puts exhaust on their car. It's possible he has stronger internals. Also they have a good kick let me get a hp rating. also how much does your car weight? I think the stock 1.8T is about 2800 lbs. Chipped and intake I'd imagine would get him close to 200. They're about 150 stock. You can chip the shiz out of em. Hope this helped and GL. The Golf's are nice. I was very tempted to buy one my self.

i'm sorry but 200 crank hp is no where near what my car makes. my car makes closer to 260 crank hp ( suppose to be 280ish hp but my car is not running like it should ). i was reading a article and with all that stuff done, they only put down like 180whp. i mean thats 30 less whp then my car in its hurt state. argh i wish i can find my missing 30whp.

Re: ...... a 1.8T hung with me on the highway.

Light weight, chip, bigger turbo and befier intercooler, intake, I dunno. Those 1.8Ts are mod happy, they'll take just baout anything. Most of the ones I've raced I've been able to stomp from a dig, but in a roll, its hard as hell to pull. Of course, all the 1.8Ts I've raced were A4s and Jettas, so I'm thinking a GTi would probably get me becuase its so much lighter, and the A4 and Jetta are about the same weight of my car.

Huh? ... something does not make sense there.

You "heel toe" into 3rd? .... heel-n-toe is a technique for downshifting while using the brake to slow down for a turn. If you are accelerating, you are not "hell-n-toeing."

If you were, in fact, slowing down for the exit ... why would you have been in 4th @ 60 mph?

The way I understood it he was taking a slow ramp at 60 mph, so he didn't really have to be in a low gear there. When he was getting off the ramp, he was getting his rpms up by "heel n toeing" and he downshifted as he was merging onto the highway.

That's what I got from it, but I don't know.

there was car ahead of me at the exit of the merge. so i was forced to hit the brakes. so since i was hitting the brakes to prevent collision. which makes sense for me to heel toe heh. sorry for making that part vague.

anyways i just did my compression test today and my compression is perfect. amazing how the car took boost for over 30K miles making almost double the factory output and its still wanting more.

anyways i'm goin to run 550cc. and a jim wolf tuned ECU. and 12 psi here i come.
anyways
