Unhappy 2000 ram transmission (I think?)

My dodge ram seems to be having some issues no one can figure out. When your at a stop and take off it seems like the transmission is slipping. Once your up to speed (about 55-60) it seems fine. Well in just the past two weeks the Over drive off light comes on by its self and won't go back off till you stop the truck and let it set for about a half hour and start it again. Twice I have drove it maybe 5 miles after the light came on and my Trans Temp light came on. The dealer tells me they can't find anything wrong with it. They have put it on computer for codes and can't get any. My check engine light is on all the time now and they say thats not even showing up on the computer code. I am at wits end. I bought the truck to tow a horse trailer with and have yet to tow anything. Any advise or possible solutions would be of great help and is most needed.

If the check engine light is on there has to be codes. Usually OD light flashing or coming on by itself means there is a transmission code. Dodge truck transmissions are bad about failing early.

I had a similar problem with my 2000 dodge, ended up being the speed output sensor, costs about $12 and easy to fix yourself.

also, there should be a code if the check engine light is on, you can find it yourself, just turn your key 3 times, on the 3rd time a p (problem) code will show up on your odometer.

year of truck...Trans temp light came on due to the trans slipping causing excessive heat. Have them scan the vehicle and monitor the governer pressure sensor with the drb.....

On the aft driveshaft housing. Unplug, remove, install, reconnect lead. 10 minutes.

Transmision Problem

There is a problem on those transmisions which we found. Check the transmision oil lines that goes to the radiator for the cooling sistem. One of the lines at the end has like a round metal and in the back it has like a spring. If that spring goes bad you can burn the trany. That's why you need to wait to cool it off. If that's the case, the dealer or the factory might be liable for that.
