curb weight of civic hatchback

What is the curbweight of a 89 civic hatchback and what can I do to loose some of the weight and whats the best engine for it.

i think its 2,100 lbs. or so for the standard and dx, and around 2,250 lbs. for the si. u can reduce weight by taking out ur backseat and ur ac compressor if you have ac. best engine......depends on how much you're willing to spend and what end result you want. try the search feature.

in my 91 DX with full interior, spare & jack, factory AC delete, and a d16z6 swap, i weighed in at 2180lbs with no driver.
