|
Whats the point?
Sombody please explain to me the point of voting for Nader. If your going to throw away your vote then dont vote. Its no way he can win. If they are trying to take votes away from the 2 candidates so neither win, the senate (correct me if im wrong) is going to appoint bush anyway, (since its the republican party) so why not vote for Bush?

you're right, but i don't think Nader will carry enough votes to drive the election to the Senate. Nader isn't even on the ballot in several states. he was removed on Ohio's (saw it on my absentee ballot), so i highly doubt he's going to have enough of an impact to really screw things up. (not trying to start political debate) although i wouldn't mind seeing Bush back.

If there is a tie in the electoral college (269 to 269), it goes to the house of representatives, which would likely elect Bush. There are approxiamately 33 ways the battleground states could vote that would result in a tie.
Nader is not an issue. I think people vote for him to make a statement.

I understand where you're coming from, saying "why bother voting for someone if it won't make a difference". It makes sense to place your vote with someone that has as close as possible views as you do, that has an actual chance of getting in.. I just think a lot of people either want to make a statement saying "F bush and Kerry", or just plain feel that their choice deserves support.

ok well since the senate is gonna be mostly democratic and HOR is repub if it were electoral tie there would be bush for president as HOR chooses that, and edwards for VP as senate does the vice. who can fathom that one?

thats why we should do it like france. france has it so that there is i guess a secondary? where they have all of the candidates run, and the top two go to the primarys, and everyone votes again for one or the other. that makes the most sense to me, that and its a national holiday haha. but think about it, it would be so much easier, that way no one would bitch about the little man running
