Re: high miles
I had an 88 Firefly with 258,000kms on it before i got rid of it. The engine still ran ok, though it could have used new rings. The reason I ditched it was that the body was made of lacy metal because no one ever got it undercoated, and the salty roads in this area ate through it like Oprah through a baked ham. My 98 Metro has 136,000km on it right now, but I'm sure it'll reach 300 or more before I'm done, since the body is still in mint shape, and I plan on undercoating it regularly.
