floor console light

I can't see what gear my car is in. I figure a light is burned out in the floor console. How do you get into the console to check things out?

Similar problem. How do you get the gear-shift knob off (94 Supreme convt.) to remove the console????

Easy (now). You didn't say what year. On my '94 - lift out change holder, 2 philps screws there. Pry out horseshoe pin from back of shift knob and pull up/off. Lift out plastic piece with gear indicator. turn over and you'll see where the little bulb snaps into a slider that travels with the gear shift.

The car is a 96. There seems to be 2 squares near the top of the storage compartment that could be 1 way snaps. I just don't want to break anything if there is a proper way of taking it apart.

I have '94 and '95 Cutlass Supreme convertibles. Don't know what you mean by "2 squares" on a '96, but that doesn't mean anything to me?!? Mine came out easy, as above, and I even made a larger "P,R,D,3,2,1" on my computer and printed white w/black background on lables I cut out and pasted under the original (which is reversed printed/painted) on a piece of clear plastic.
