Fuel Additives
What are the general feelings concerning adding fuel system cleaner/carb cleaner/etc.... for performance reasons as the vehicle starts to accumulate miles and age.
I have heard "add nothing" and I have heard "add additives if you see a decrease in performance" Thanks Mike |

I would say a good quality fuel injector cleaner is not a bad idea. Do not use octane boost. It is a joke and a waste of money. It only raises it a bout one point so if you are running 92 octane you get 92.1 not 93 octane like they would like you to beleive

Re: Fuel Additives
Sea Foam, give this stuff a try. You can add it to the gas tank or PCV valve, gives a good cleaning. Cory

Re: Fuel Additives
use stp fuel injection system cleaner, i use that once a month in mine. and beleive me it helps. i went 2 months with out it and mine started running sluggish, it perked up after adding a bottle and driving it a few miles. i would recomend that you accelerate slowly the first few miles that way it wil loosen the carbon build up in your injectors. then and more faster acceleration it will flush it out.

Re: Fuel Additives
I've heard great things about Sea Foam. I dump a pint of Techron in the tank every 3k miles. Honestly, I can't say if it does any good, but I guess peace of mind is worth something, right?
Take care, Jerry
