Pontial 2000 Sunfire Trunk Won't Close

My trunk won't close. My lock works but the piece that's supposed to click/grab when you close the trunk seems stuck. Any ideas on how to replace it or where I could get a replacment for it besides the dealership?

Re: Pontial 2000 Sunfire Trunk Won't Close

i bet your latch is loose...try loosening the screws a bit on the upper latch or bottom part on the trunk untiil they line up...then tighten the screws on the latch again, i had same problem, they got knocked loose on a construction road and i had to tighten them, trunk kept flying open

also check that your trunk release isn't pulled up slightly. Other than the dealer check a junkyard
