look into the Pirelli P7000 supersports. They work great for me. Plus, how much you willing to spend? For four P7000 supersports at www.TIRERACK.com its $549.99. Maybe you can find cheaper.

I think so.
But really depends on what your rims offset is.

when i had rims on my old civic they where 17x7 with a 38mm offset and 205/40/zr17's on it and it rubbed. not all the time but under moderate cornering it rubbed in front. i was lowered 2 inches though. the correct tire for your width would be a 215 but if your lowered you may have to put a 205 on it and take the chance of leaving your rims lip exposed in order to not rub. i dont know if a 42mm offset is enough but hopefully what i told you will help.

just try to figure it this way your stockie is 6.5 right?
if so then add .5 to each side it will stick out

then find out the stock offset (no clue) and compare it with the new offset and divide it in half and put that much on each sides width total and that should give you how much more your going to be sticking inward and outward and make a determination from there.

i think i typed that right? if not close enough...

some of my friends have 17's on there civic and the only time it rubs on them is when they cut the wheel hard to take a sharp turn

You will not rub if you don't drop your car to far. Im driving around with a 16" rim with a 38 offset and my car is dropped a little less then 2". I don't rub. For a 17"x7.5" rim the perfect offset would be 45 I think.
