camaro v6 tranny question
I have a 96 camaro v6 3.8 and when i drive in D not OD it seemes to shift through 1st 2nd 3rd ok but shift into 4th right after 3rd. this is under normal accelerating conditions. it shifts better when i have my foot in it. I'm guessing it is a 5 speed auto trans. I just recently purchased this car so I am unfimilar with it. any ideas or is this normal.. any help thanks.

Re: camaro v6 tranny question
welcome to the forums
yeah its normal for the tranny to do that unless its at wide open throttle (gas peddle is floored) than it'l hold it in each gear a little longer, but under normal acceleration, the tranny is programmed to shift at certain points to keep it most efficient
