the difference between Turbos and an "electric supercharger."

Ok, I have been seeing a bunch of posts about electric super chargers and here is the diffference.

The turbo draws air in from the inducer and throwes it agenst the compresseor housing to compress it. Then it exits the turbocharger into the engine. The important factor to see is that the turbo accually compresses the air charge in the compressor housing. then the compressed air exits.

Now

It just flows through and gets stirred up. Like the tornado.

I know this is like the express explanation. Any questions, just post them.

Hypsi87.

Re: the difference between Turbos and an "electric supercharger."

the theory behind them, i guess, is that they stir up the air flowing in to get a better mixture. i always heard that you want the most unrestricted airflow in the intake track. i know that is basically what the vortec engines do, mix up the air, but i have always been told that up to the intake manifold you want as little restriction as possible. could be wrong though...

Re: the difference between Turbos and an "electric supercharger."

I knew some dude who bought one of those 'universal' fit electric superchargers. His shit froze up and his engine started to cough and die , couldn't suck enough air , He ( dumb as he is ) just kept driving it until it just ended up dying , don't know why ? ( Duh..heh. )
