Why rear rim got more brake dust?
Oddest thing. In previous cars, I always had more brake dust residue on the front rims than on the back rims. This makes sense to me as my understanding is that the front brakes are taking 80% of the braking load, and the back brakes only 20%.
Now why would there be more brake residue on the back rims than on the front rims on my 944? Anyone else have symptom? Could there be something wrong?

Re: Why rear rim got more brake dust?
It could be that their are cheap brake pads that are fitted on the rear, this would cause lots of dust, OR your calipers are binding(sticking) so your brakes could be on a bit all the time.

Re: Why rear rim got more brake dust?
I can't attest to the quailty of brakes that the previous owner put on, but the car feels nuetral when braking, so I'm not really worried about it right now. However, I plan on putting carbon-kevlar or varbon-cermaic pads on when it's time to reaplce them.

Re: Why rear rim got more brake dust?
Of course, it could be that the fronts have more cooling air blowing acorss them as they have ducting from the front of the air dam, and this air flow is keeping them cleaner. What do you think? This sounds like a very plausible explanation to me.

you could be right, it a possibility, but i would say cheap brake pads or good hard discs on cheap pads.
