--- '37 Ford Coupe ---

Started my new project on Friday. A Revell '37 ford Coupe. So Far I have the body lowered on the fenders and the top chopped. Still needs filling and cleaning. The fenders are untouched and still need allot of work removing flashing etc. The wheels are Pegasus chrome "T"s, 19" front and 23" rear.

I will have to chop the grill and stretch the hood. I may build a new grill, the one I got in the kit is a lil buggered up.

The rear window was reshaped a lil, I had to raise the lower part of the window frame. The contour of the rear deck will meet the top where the old lower window line was.

Here you can see the before and after. The window split bars and were removed.

Here's an overlay of the side. When I dropped the body I also moved it rearward and gave it a slight bit more rake to the front. When I chopped the top I moved the top forward, also with more rake. I think it gives it a bit more aggressive look. Still need to fill the body to rear deck and all the cuts. The B pillars were also removed.

More to come ...

Small update, doesn't look like much but quite a bit has been done
Had to straiten the fenders out a bit. The front fenders were tweeked a lil to the right and the front left fender was up slightly. I clamped it down on a straight board and worked it about 10 minutes with a blow dryer. Came out really close even thought the left fender is actually wider than the right. I had to split the diff from what measures right and what looks right.

Got most the heavy filling and sand ing done to the body, top has been puttied up and smoothed out and ready for another primer coat to weed out the minor stuff.
Got the hood sides made up and will be molding the sides to the top of the hood to make a 1 piece hood so there is still some filling to do there.
The grill will be scratch built. The one that came in the kit was buggered up, besides it no longer fits. I was just going to cut it down and stretch the hood to meet it, but it just doesn't line up right in any way.

Thanks for looking
Till next ...

Re: --- '37 Ford Coupe ---

Man...I love yours. Mine looks like a pile of manure. I think I may have modified mine to much.

Please, please, post up on how you build your grill, thats where Im stuck. I want my '37 to be sleek, but the grill just doesnt cut it.

Looks really good, Im in love with it.
