Re: rear window defroster

You would need to secure it with something that was electrically conductive. You may need to try an electronics store.

I know there are repair kits available for the traces perhaps there are also repair kits for what you are trying to do.

I would not simply glue as you would have a high impedence at the glue.

I have the same problem.

I have a 2000 SEL and have had the rear defroster fixed twice. Just had it in the garage yesterday (it's broke again) and they told me I have to replace the whole windsheild. Apparently trying to fix it could result in the window exploding???

Has anyone had any expereince with this? I'm pissed that this is not going to be covered unded warranty. They told me that windows are not covered - but I said there's nothing wrong with the window. It's the rear defrost that isn't working correctly.

Anyone else out there have this problem? I would be interested in hearing some solutions.
