Re: Best place to buy new Rotors

Try Performance Products. They have some nice slotted rotors.

Well, i cant say the best, but the cheapest is Murrays Auto. I compared them with Pep Boys and Auto Zone and I saved alot of $$$

Re: Best place to buy new Rotors

I would probably go with Toyota calipers! I've never had to price them...I guess, after 150,000 mi. on the original ones (and still going), I would trust factory Toyota. Otherwise, basic Pep Boys and other auto parts brands are pretty much the same. I'm not saying they won't work, but, depending on how good of a job they do re-manufacturing them, that's how long they might last. I use to work at an auto repair shop, and I've seen a lot of the parts that we would order from the parts house go bad in a hurry.

Conclusion:Shop around, then try the dealer. You might find that Toyota parts are around the same price, somethimes less and sometimes more, a lot more. Not to mention different Toyota dealers price their items differently, so try different dealers too. I usually won't make a big fuss if the price is close, so long as I know what I'm getting.

Re: Best place to buy new Rotors

I know parts stores (Napa, AutoZone, PartsAmerica, CarQuest) have parts galore for just about anything out there, but I've always found it best to stick with OEM. If your original pads or rotors went to a certain number of miles, then buying OEM again will guarantee the same results again. Try this site: www.genuineoem.com I've had good luck with them in the past. They run their prices cheaper than the dealership but still OEM stuff.
