*Test drive 95 240 SX questions please

Hey guys, I was hoping some of you 240 SX experts might be able to answer a few questions...
I just test drove a 95 240 SX SE...
Its a auto tranny.
It drove fine & started right up but....
*It doesn't have the orig. coolant overflow tank and the radiator is putting some coolant into it...(I took a maybe 20 min drive on a cool evening...The owner said it had a head gasket replaced awhile back...I had never heard of these cars ever having bad head gaskets?
It didn't smoke at startup or during full throttle...

It is stock except for a CAI and high flow exhaust...
Also:
*The windshield washer pump also didn't work...
*The odometer didn't work...He says it must have just stopped, as he has owned it for 2 years, bought it at around 88k miles and now it shows 114k miles...(The mileagle trip odo did work)

*The overdrive button didn't work on the trans? (It shifted fine)
Other then that everything worked fine on the car...
Thanks much for any imput!

well how much does he want for it? what color is it? what color interior? where is it located?

If i was you i wouldnt buy it for more than $3,000

because it already went through head gasket, so who knows how bad it was driven. and the auto thing is just not worth it. There is just to many problems for it, if it was a 5spd i would go through with it all but for auto its not worth your time.

Plus how old is the guy, if hes like in his 20s 30s he might have been smashing it.

I suggest you wait for another apportunity.. it took me 6 months to find what i wanted and i waited for it , and then i had to fly to pick it up and drove home 7 hours... good deals are worth the wait..

Think about it, if he had aftermarket exhaust, then he got the car to have fun, FUN=KILLING the car. So he prolly drives hard, which isn't a good thing.

Re: *Test drive 95 240 SX questions please

Thanks for the imput guys...Awesome picture there GT500!
He isn't asking much, its red with black leather, the SE model so its loaded... I have owned 2-240's before...They were 5 spds, but now I drive alot for business and its 90% city... stuck in traffic type stuff so that is why a Auto tranny is almost prefered now...I am past the age of wanting to go fast ...at least so much...Or maybe its not age, but the fact a idiot almost killed me while riding in his Corvette he totaled last year...I just don't have the "need" for speed like I use to...

I just had never heard of a head gasket issue with them...at all!
They are going to get all the paperwork & see if the head was reserfaced and what not...
Yes, it has some issues, but my offer will reflect that...

Congrats two4ty!
That was a great buy!
I guess you didn't see my 93 240 when I was down in Miami last Jan..ha ha...
I went down & thawed out awhile when it was like 20 below here in Indy...I crossed over from Kentucky to Indiana on the way home driving right threw and I hit a ice/snow storm...I counted over 50 cars/SUV's in the ditch or wrecked...My 240SX made it fine... It just took me 3 more hours then normal to make it...Oh how I miss Hawaii...
