Extended warranty

I recently received a copy of an extended warranty for an engine oil sludge problem with passats, FUnny thing is it's like my car knew it. shortly after a warning light came on asking me to shut the engine off as oil pressure is low. Once I did that and checked the oil (which was fine) the light stayed off. It came on again intermitantly. Anyone have similar troubles?
