Misfire?

Hey guys,

I'm kind of a newb and was wondering how you can tell if your car has a misfire. Once in a while when is start my car there is a small single knocking noise. Could this possibly be a misfire of one of the cylinders? If not what are the signs/ ways to go about fixing it.

-Thanks

Re: Misfire?

How many miles on your car? What size motor? How's it driven? How long was it parked?
Could be alot of things. Low oil pressure, bearing, ect.

Re: Misfire?

The fun thing about cars, they are like small kids. When you hear a noise, you have to check on them. When you don't hear anything, you have to check NOW.
I'd run it up to Auto Zone. Have it scanned. If the car random misfire, it's going to be fun.
Don't see too many 97 with lower mileage. Sounds like a nice car. Keep it in good shape.
