Removal of Power steering variable speed Sensor problem

I am in the middle replacing my Power Steering pump. The remanu unit I got from the dealer doesn't come with the pulle and variable speed control. I managed to install the pulley and now need to remove and re-install the variable speed control on the new unit. Problem is I cannot seem to figure out how to remove this VSC unit!

Can anyone point this out. I have checked the Haynes Repair manual and there is no mention of this other than having to remove and replace on the new unit i.e. no instruction or pics.

Appreciate all and any input.

Thanks.

Re: Removal of Power steering variable speed Sensor problem

On the VSC unit, you will see the connector end. Look down about another 1 inch or so and you will see a large hex. You need to have a wrench that will fit the hex, if you dont, use a large adjustable wrench - but be careful. Mount the P/S pump in a vise and then proceed to loosen the VSC. Be careful as it is torqued down quite a bit and is spring loaded - so it could pop out on you. Also watch out for the floating connector for the high pressure line - this must be realigned properly when you reinstall the VSC in the new pump, otherwise your high pressure line will not line up.
