I have a 1996 cavalier. 2.2L and like everyone else with a 2.2, I am also unhappy with the performance. Call anyone tell me if the 2002+ ecotec engine will bolt drirectly up to the 1996 frame? And whe MIGHT I need to make to WORK?

A few people have done it, but I've heard you need to rewire the whole car.

rewiring my car isn't that big of a deal...i'm going to strip the enterior and everything...i just want to konw if the engine will bolt up with out and MAJOR reconstruction to my fram

oh shit no.... that why all cavy's are called j-bodys.... everything it built on the same frame... its when you take engines from like a grand prix and stick it in there then you will have to mod it...
