car was in accident, but repaired, should i buy?

my friend has a car hes selling, and its been in an accident before. i was in the car with him when it happened. what happened was he hit a big curb at about 60 mph. it didnt do any body damage, except for the front bumper, and didnt look like the chassis was hit. looked like the wheels, shocks, and control arms took most of the damage. the car was repaired by a good shop though, expensive too, good thing his insurance paid for it.

so my question is, you think the chassis might be a little loose now cause of this? do you think its close to normal? i drove it after it was repaired, rode in it all the time, and it felt fine. maybe a small squeek here and there, but nothing major. what do you think?

i really want it, cause hes selling it really cheap for the mileage, and the amount of stuff thats on it.

i wanna add another thing. the car was looked at and everything after it was repaired, so i know its ok, but does that mean its 100% back to normal? one of my buddies told me that whenever a car gets into an accident, its never the same, that little things go wrong with it all the time, and the chassis isnt quite as stiff.

well nothing is ever 100% normal after a wreck, but if it was professionally fixed with insurance paying, you know it's gotta be good... i bought a wrecked J30 and am restoring it personally... it drives like a dream with 130k miles on it... hoping for 130k more in the future. if you like it, buy it

If it feels fine, than it's probably going to be fine. How many miles are on the car now and how many more are you planning on putting on it yourself? If it's just a small amount, then definetely go for it.

it has 75k right now, not sure how long ill have it. its a 97 gsx, and has lots of mods, like hks t3/t4 turbo, 550cc injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, hks down pipe, hks exhaust, hks manifold, hks timer, hks controller, apexi fmic, bilstein shocks, stillen brakes, enkei rpm2 18 inch wheels, all i can think of for now. the body, and lights are all stock. hes willing to sell it to me for 10k, maybe less, but i told him no way cause of the accident. im giving it a second thought though, and he doesnt know.

Yeah, the car is overpriced. It would be worth that much with a clean title. I personally would only pay between 7-8000 for it.

its got more mods, its also got a viper alarm, and i see stock gsx going for that price range with that many miles. so you think its too high even with all those mods? so what do you all think is a fair price with all those mods? 8k? seems a little low. 10k probably wont be the final deal either. im also gonna have the chassis measured and everything to make sure its ok. or would you rather get a stock gsx with a clean title? but it wont have all those mods, and i ll have to go look for one. its also been over a yr since the repair, and a lot of shops have looked at it, never found anything wrong with it. plus it has new parts, mainly maintenace, like the clutch, belt, and brand new toyo tires.

well... i paid 500 for my car.... so i don't see paying more than 5k for a damaged car... you may get him to go down if you just tell him the condition of the car is below the blue book value of it (i forget the website, but go to the kelly blue book site and input the condition of his car)
