I have a 2003 Denali XL with the automatic leveling. I tow a 28ft enclosed race car trailer and I utilize the weight distributing bars/sway control. The problem I am having is once the air bags fully inflate I adjust bars accordingly(as per owners manual). The problem is when I am trailering I know these bags must re-regulate the ride height thus throwing off the setting I used with the weight bars...So the trailer wants to start swaying really bad. Is there a way I can have air bags fully inflate and then turn them off?? If I can't get this under control the truck has to go and I really don't want to get rid of vehicle.

I too have a 03 denali XL and I tow an open bed 24' race car trailer.
my method is I usually tighten (install) the weight distrubing bars with the engine off, (before the autoride pumps up). then when I start the motor, it'll pump up to whatever it wants too. I never really notice any differce if I pump up the autoride before or after the weight dist bars are on. I need to run a double sway controller, one on each side, and I must tighten the hay out of them. and the sway is very livable. not to bad at all. I'm towing about 6000lbs fully loaded with tires and tools. I go up the steepest hills no problem at all. the tranny on the hottest day hit 210 once, otherwise she'll run about 190's. usually when I tow, I get the exhaust popping - snapping real bad. |
