95 LeSabre with a 4T60-E Tranny with problems

I have a 1995 Buick LeSabre with the 4T60-E transaxle. What my car is doing is that when the engine/tranny is cold in "D" I get 1, 2, and OD. But after say 20-30 miles or so and the engine/tranny is warm all I get is 1 and 2. I've been lately feeling it slip right out of OD down to 2 after it warmed up. I've already had the tranny partially removed enough so that I accessed the side pan and checked the shift solenoids, tcc, and the pwm solenoid and electrical harness. Could someone shed some light on where I could start testing next to try and figure out why it's acting this way??? THanks..

Re: 95 LeSabre with a 4T60-E Tranny with problems

Hi
Sorry I can't offer anything for your problem, But I am having a different problem with my 4T60-e ever since I had the Oil/Filter changed last May, Overnight the oil bleeds back into the pan from the Cooler and or Converter ? once it's running(about 1 min.)it goes like a champ all day ??.My Question is could you elaborate a little on how you got the side cover off with the tranny in the car ?, You can E-mail me direct if you like or respond to the Forum, My e-mail [email protected]
Thanks and good luck I hope you find the problem and wish I could help.
Rick

Check the fluid level. Pull the torque converter off and check for damage to it, it may not be engaging properly. You can pull the pan off, and there are a specific type metal shavings that only come from the inner lining of the torque converter. Gold colored I think. I also remember something about sticking your finger into were the spine interlocks with the torque converter. The inside should only turn one direction I'm pretty sure. Who knows if that applies or not.

Try changing the Ignition module.. My trannie was jumping on a downshift and it quit when the module was replaced..
