2000 Escort and Pesky ABS Light

Hello....

(this is a repost from a few weeks ago, as the msg is now burried and there was no response. Sounds like this one is a stumper, eh?)

I have a 2000 Ford Escort. The ABS light comes on and goes off periodically. The front breaks seem to be are in great shape, as I've inspected them. The breaks in general work fine, no squeaks, no vibration, nothing out of the normal. I've not ventured into the rear breaks though for inspection.

While driving, the ABS light will come on. Don’t even have to be using the brakes for that to happen. It will stay on until the car is turned off. Most of the time, the light will not be on when I start the car again, a few times the light did stay on, but went off with the next cycling of the car being started.

I had the dealer look at it once, they said they did not have any code on the computer, and whatever they did, the light stayed off for a couple of months….

Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance,

Kos
