Re: installing camshafts QUESTION

The job is pretty straight forward, I would rate it 2 on scale of 0-5 5 being the hardest. Proper torque is very important!
Here's a link for a 91 D16 head section from a factory repair manual, yours will be very close but I suggest the proper manual to get the proper torque spec's.

91 D16 - http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual...alve_train.htm

Manuals - www.helminc.com or go to a honda dealer & ask if you can copy the pages needed.

To get the most of it a ported and polished head, instake & throttle body are very important. Valve springs are a good idea also. For the full benefit of a cam gear & other listed mods dyno tuning is the only way to go.

you said stage 2 in the first post and stage 3 in the second which one is it ? also you gotta install valve springs because of the extra lift it will cause binding with stock valves, unless otherwise noted

yes, you should install the springs with any aftermarket cam in my opinion.

Re: installing camshafts QUESTION

crabby,
you seriously need to get a service manual for your car BEFORE you take one bolt off that car! Read it cover to cover and it will outline in great detail everything you need to know. Most include pictures as well.

If you don't heed this advice, you will be right back on the forums asking why your engine doesn't start, or asking if bent valves are a "bad thing". The risk of damage to your new cam, valves, and other components is too great.

But, it's your car... do what you want but don't say you weren't warned.

Re: installing camshafts QUESTION

Please go to www.helminc.com and buy a manual. It will only take a couple of days to get it and it will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about your car. Please I urge you to buy one, they are invaluable.
