The clips aren't expensive even at the dealer and though I often advise other sources for many parts and especially many services and repairs, this is one case where your sure to get the correct pieces and avoid damage to the molding[s]
you might also try a "german specializing" body shop.

Got the clips from the dealer and replaced the broken one. No problem. I also got a few extra ones in case I ever have another "failure". Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement clips for the side moldings on the doors of the car? Besides the dealer? I have a 1991 535i.
