crankshaft question

ok, i'm thinkin about buying another 1993 cavalier for $100. i just sold my last one...this one will just be a car to have fun with....
the kid that owned it before me spun a bearing...they brang it into a mechanic and he replaced the bearings. well the car ran good for like 400 miles, then started knocking a little. they brang it back to the mechnic and he told them the crankshaft needs to be resurfaced/polished. apparenly like a machine shop would do this...just wondering if any of you knew how much it would cost approximately to get the crank polished, we can do all the other work ourselves. thanks.

Re: crankshaft question

Just call around, the prices are going to be different in different areas of the country. Should be pretty cheap, even if they have to weld it up and turn it back down to spec. Good Luck.
