Car wont start can somebody help me?
The last two cold days my car will not start so I towed it to a shop and when it got there they said it started right up. So they looked at it and could find nothing wrong. So I drove it around that night and parked it and then the next morning the same thing happened. The engine turns over and it seems like it wants to start but it just wont. Can somebody help me?

If the fuel pump was bad it would not have worked for the mechanic.
I would recommend a quick check and clean of the IAC valve. When the engine is cold it need to close, sort of like an old time choke. These often get gummed up really bad. Some spray carb cleaner and an old toothbrush will clean it right up. Be sure to clean out the mounting hole too. Also do not move the pentile in or out while cleaning it. Good Luck. |

Re: Car wont start can somebody help me?
The IAC is the Idle Air Control valve. It is located on the trottle body, neat the actual butterfly. It opens or closes to allow air around the butterfly as needed. It is about an inch in diameter ans an inch and a half long. It will be attached with two torx screws and have a four conductor weather-pac type electrical connector. When you undo the screws, twist a little and pull out. It will have a shaft with a spring on th and a point at the end. When cleaning it is okay to spin this shaft assembly just try not to move it in or out. It will wiggle some, this is normal. Clean out the hole using carb cleaner and a shop rag over a small wooden dowel. Good Luck.
