How do you change the air filter on a Corolla?

I'm completely ignorant about cars, so this may sound like a dumb question... but I figured it may be something I can do myself. Do I need any special tools, or is it just a matter of unscrewing the pane, and putting another one?

Well it depends on wot year Corolla u have, for instance..My 1990 Corolla has a metal air-box that goes accross the top of the engine and is secured by a wing-nut and all i have to do is unscrew it take out the element and put in a new one. wot year is ur corolla? once i know that then i can help u further, but dont worry if ur ignorant about cars u'll learn about them in time, just ask questions in the diffrent forums that correspond to the problem or question u have and learn away from people who know more (im getting good now )

what year? if it's anything 93 or up, there will be a black plastic box to the right of the engine. there should be three clips on it. unclip those (you might need a screw driver...personal preference) and pop the top of the box off. pull the old filter, pop a new one in, replace the clips and you're good to go. older than 93 talk to Mr. Corolla

You can always ask the guys at autozone. They might make fun of you, but remember, they didnt know where it was at some point in their lives either!
