Wow you own a 7-11! OK this info will cost you a cup of coffee...
just kidding OK, let me see if I have this right.....Your Drivers information center is working (DIC). Your saying that the indicator on the dash, or, is it the indicator on the passenger door? (personal climate control). Do the controls on the steering wheel work? example: Fan switch, volume for the radio, channel up/down for the radio etc.?

I don't know if this will mean anything, but I had a remote starter installed by Best Buy (would never do that again). But when you put the key backwards now, instead of that area being off and only the radio on, the climate area powers up also. And then if you keep it that way for a long time, the outside temp keeps on incrementing. After 15 minutes or so, it says it's like 80 degrees outside when it is really 30 or so. But as soon as you start the car, it works fine. But the moral of the story is that there is probably something messed up in the wiring (like maybe something when wiring in a new stereo or a remote starter) that is causing something wrong to happen. Did you add anything to the car like that?

Re: AC control unit not working on my car but will work on my friends car ....Please help

ok, i had exact same problem on my 95 auroar, i purchased it and the prior ownehad an afetrmarket radio installed and when he put factory radio back in, he screwed up 1 wire and it caused same issue as you explain, has there been any aftermarket radio work done, if so, disconnect the radio unit from the harness and wait about 30 secounds or so. on my car onec i disconnect radio after 30 secounds the control panel 3 dashs went away and all came back to life. once i plugged the radio back in, the whole conntrol head died out again. i took it to a good aftermarket stereo installer and in 10 mins, problem solved.. not sure if this is the problem in your car but perhaps it is, good luck.
