From idle, shifter refuses to go into 1st gear. Must do 2nd, then 1st.
At first, it only happened 30% of the time, mostly when the car was cold. 2 months later, EVERY SINGLE shift into 1st from stop is met with fierce rsistance. The shifter REFUSES to go into 1st. Will slide into 1st if I go from 2nd to 1st, or if the car is gently rolling at around 1-5 mph.
97 GST. Good clutch, orig tranny, 115K miles.

How close is the cluth engagement point to the floor?

i would say almost near the floor.
clutch has 15K miles on it.

Thats most likely the problem, as I suspected. Bleed the clutch again. If proper bleeding doesnt raise the engagement point try using the pedal adjustment.
