Lightbulb Went Off Roading Today in a 04 silverado

It was good, but just like a dirt trail with some grassy areas. I went at night and it was close by. Its right next to a bunch of houses, its where FPL puts their powerlines. I was having some fun fishtailing it and stuff. I was just wondering what are some good do's and don'ts to keep the truck in good condition. Like is it ok to spin the wheels alot when turning. I mean I just would like to be educated before i do something stupid to fuck up the truck. Thanks, and please no iggnorant replys.

If its a half ton 1500. it wont last. My stick shift allows me to be very specific with power and gears to chose that will prevent abuse to drive trian. Automaticks wont let you do this so yoou half to mash the gas and hope for the best itss all hydraliks cluthes. My truck will climb with the best with my locker but you just half to be careful...JJ

Re: Went Off Roading Today in a 04 silverado

theres no climbing at all really I live in south florida so theres no hills or anything. the highest incline is like 3 feet, and maybe 45* angle. Its almost like normal road driving just off road, on grass and a dirt trail. I was wondering tho if it was bad to stomp on the gas and let the tires spin while fishtailing for about 50 feet?

it was only about 3000rpms just enough to get the wheels to spin so i could slide around a corner. its an automatic, i figured it would be better for the truck to do something like that on dirt. i did it twice at night when the grass was really dewy so it might of only been 2k to get them to spin if that.

yea.....keep them spinning while your turning. thier is a possibility that if you are fishtailing and the back wheels stop spinning and catch some grip...their is a possibilty that you can roll your truck. But thats probly just on blacktop, i dont think it would really happen on dirt or grass.

Me neither. I especially hate the "Auto 4wd". That's about as useless at a football bat.
