'95 blazer transmission problem

my '95 blazer transmission is failing to lock in the tcc. it shifts fine through the gears, but at a steady speed above 35 it shutters in and out. i changed fluid and filter and the tcc solenoid but the problem did not change. i'm not getting any service engine light so i have no code to check. could it be the lock-up solenoid ? besides applying the brake, is there any way to disconnect this without damaging the trans. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreaciated.

Re: '95 blazer transmission problem

This is normal, that is the exact speed range that it kicks in.

Nothng is wrong, just put the truck in drive instead of OD if you don't want it to do that. Or just go a little faster and stop feathering the gas pedal all the time.

Re: '95 blazer transmission problem

the problem i'm having is not normal, it feels almost like a miss from the converter kicking in and out. putting the truck in drive instead of od does not make a difference. it occurs anytime its at a steady cruising speed.

Re: '95 blazer transmission problem

the engine is running fine, its only when the tcc kicks in that the problem exists. if i depress the brake pedal lightly to disengage it the problem goes away.

Re: '95 blazer transmission problem

The TCC is based on serveral engine factors also like engine temperature and open/closed loop operation.

no, it just keeps cycling in and out but never locks in.

Re: '95 blazer transmission problem

Ok, so you are going 60mph cruising along.

The TCC jumps in and out?

Re: '95 blazer transmission problem

You might just want to have the TCC looked at.

But first, make sure your engine is going into closed loop and the temperature and everything is ok.
