turbo problems

i have a sr20 and my turbo is spooling up i can hear it spooling up but there is no boost when it gets to where it should be boosting it just seems to lose power whats goin on here? there are no leaks anywhere ive already looked

its kinda weird.. turbo is spooling and there is no leaks and you loose power...

You didnt just ducktape the turbo to your header did you?? jk...

Have you gotten the car tuned up? Could it be that the fuel and air mixture if off? Im not an expert tuner and this is where i would come with my questions as well, but if the turbo is spinning and there are no leaks, then there is gotta be pressure.. could it be that the gauge is not working so you dont get the boost you think you should an the car is running crappy because its not tunned perfectly and you just think its not getting boost??

d u have a boost guage??? something must be leaking. or ur tubo is brokn... (my t25 made weird noizes befor it broke down)... hope i helpe da bit, keep us posted!

Maybe the wastegate is stuck.

air fuel isnt off. and i know there are no leaks ive checked many times im not sure maybe it could be the wastegate ill keep in touch

Either the wastegate or the BOV is stuck or you have a huge boost leak.

Id put money on that the C-Clip holding the actuator on to the wastegate just popped off and its letting the flapper vent all the air.

the turbo will still sound like its spooling up if its worn out, cause it acn still be spinning around and not making power if its done for....

I'll even wadger a shiny nickel on it.

Its happened to me. The little clip just popped off. and it let the wastegate go full open. the boost would go to 1-2 psi and just hold there. took me 30 seconds to fix.

ill give it a shot when it happend did u car just run hella slow like it was having all time turbo lag kinda?

well if ur jus gunan get a new turbo instead of fixin a simple problem then what u gunan do when taht doesnt fix the problem im gunna agree R.W.240

yup

It was just like not having a turbo... god it was hella slow... I had to downshift going up hills and such.
