hi,
i've got an old 3850 ipaq. it works fine except for the reset button. it appears to have come loose and disappeared inside the case. it you try to reset it nothing happens (you can't feel the stylus making contact with anything).
this is really getting to be annoying when it totally locks up and i have to take the back off and disconnect the battery to reset it...
so... how do i get behind the cradle connector? there's a blanking plate across it with two screws in it. i;ve removed that but there's just a pcb behind it. i tried prising it, but it won't budge. do i have to take the main pcb out to be able to get at it?
i had a look at how to take the main pcb out, but it looks like what i assume to be the backlight is glued to the screen AND wired to the main pcb at several points. when i remove the three mini black screws from the main pcb, and gently prise it out of the case i can only lift the bottom about two mill, but the pcb is held in place by the connections to the backlight.

they look like they are push fit conenctions, BUT it looks like you need to get at the other side of the pcb to remove it. the side i can't get to.

so i had a good look at taking the pcb out with the screen still attached. there are four coloured plastic clips round the edge of the case that appear to hold the screen, but releasing them didn't seem to help. i tried prying a little bit, but i really didn't want to break the glass in the liquid crystal so didn't try too hard but it didn't give any signs of moving.
so i'm all out of ideas. anyone got any suggestions?
thanks!
